The statewide average price of gasoline in Texas is $ 2.82 for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. Among the major metropolitan areas studied in Texas, Odessa drivers pay the most on average at $ 2.98 per gallon, while drivers in Victoria pay the least at $ 2.73 per gallon. The national average price per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $ 3.19, which is the same price on this day last week and $ 1.00 more than the price per gallon at the same time l last year.

“Crude oil prices have increased as demand for petroleum products increases and production recovers in the Gulf after two tropical systems,” AAA Texas spokesman Daniel Armbruster said. “While the volume for all modes of travel is above 2020 levels, road travel will be the primary mode of travel for most Texans this fall.”
