JACKSON – Tommi Fedewa once put her name in the Leslie women’s basketball program’s record books.

As a junior, Fedewa shot 76.5 percent from the free throw line to set a new high water mark for the Blackhawks while averaging 9.3 points per game. This year, she is already taking her game to a new level and helping to make Leslie a contender in the Greater Lansing Athletic Conference.

Fedewa scored 12 points in Tuesday’s season opener against Bronson and will continue to be a player to watch throughout the season.

MLive and Jackson Citizen Patriot readers seem to agree, as they voted Fedewa as the best basketball player to watch this season in the Jackson area. Top Blackhawks leader received over 11,000 votes to win this week’s poll honors, while Columbia Central senior Taiya Fletcher was a finalist with over 7,000 votes.

Columbia Central sophomore center Zoie Bamm was third overall with 1,681 votes, while Grass Lake junior Gabi Lutchka was fourth with 507 votes and Stockbridge’s Gwen Rogozinski was fifth with 316 votes.
